My journey from hay fever to the end of all symptoms

Every year it's the same: What can be done about hay fever and allergies?
Heuschnupfen trifft viele von uns. Was kann man tun?

In Germany, around one third of all adults now have one or more allergies , the most common being hay fever (pollen allergy), as determined by the Robert Koch Institute .

I too belong to the group of those affected; it started around my mid-twenties and got worse year after year. Of course, I tried many things, but it didn't really get any better for a long time.

What happens in the body during hay fever?

Allergies are known to develop when our immune system learns to mount a defense response against otherwise harmless substances, such as grass or flower pollen. Initially, a sensitization process occurs, in which the immune system develops antibodies against the allergen. If the allergens are then encountered frequently and enter our body, for example, via the respiratory tract, an allergic reaction follows : The allergens are recognized, the immune system becomes active, and certain messenger substances (such as histamine ) trigger the typical symptoms like sneezing, itching, or coughing.

But why does this malfunction of the immune system occur?

The causes can be varied.

One issue is certainly heavy metal contamination or exposure to toxins.

Another problem can be a disrupted microbiome (for example , leaky gut or Candida ).

There are many reasons, but ultimately the immune system is overloaded (especially the TH2 axis) and tends to overreact.

What you can generally do

Of course, it makes sense to take fundamental action against possible causes such as heavy metal contamination.

It doesn't necessarily have to be an elaborate chelation therapy; often it is enough to enable the body to detoxify itself again with a good nutrient protocol.

This can be measured very well with laser spectroscopy, which I regularly use with my clients as part of the prevention check .

However, I've found in my own experience that this alone isn't enough to restore balance to the immune system. A "reset" is needed, in which transfer factors play a crucial role.

Reprogramming the immune system

Transfer factors are intelligent molecules that essentially reprogram the immune system, modulating or weakening the TH2 axis. Normally, the body maintains a balance between TH1 and TH2 cells. A disruption, such as the aforementioned heavy metal exposure, leads to a shift in T helper cells, with TH1 being downregulated and TH2 upregulated. This new state apparently becomes chronic in allergy sufferers, but it can also be reversed through an intelligent protocol.

I have described exactly how this works in detail in the article about my allergy protocol .

I tested it on myself in 2024 and had absolutely no allergic reactions throughout the spring and summer.

This year, in the spring of 2025, I initially did nothing and waited. Interestingly, the hay fever symptoms returned in a mild form in the rather spring-like month of March. I then repeated the protocol from the previous year and was able to quickly make the symptoms disappear again. Apparently, this "reset" needs to be repeated several times (annually), with the duration and dosage being gradually reduced if necessary.

Don't take hay fever lightly

Finally, it should be mentioned that allergies should never be taken lightly. I know that many people resign themselves to the symptoms and simply wait until the pollen season is over.

However, in the long term, there is a risk that the symptoms will not remain confined to the upper respiratory tract. What starts as harmless hay fever can develop into allergic asthma over the years.

Conventional medicine often uses antihistamines to treat allergies , and in some cases, cortisone. While this effectively treats the symptoms, it does not address the underlying causes.
