When you build a house, you want to make sure that the walls are stable and airtight , but that there are also windows and doors where you can get in and out.
It is similar with our cells : Your cell membranes possess a high level of intelligence and control the entry of nutrients and the expulsion of end products , affecting overall well-being [1 ] .
These membranes, which are only one seven-millionth of a millimeter thick [2 ] , play a crucial role in determining cell health. Cell membranes consist primarily of phospholipids , cholesterol (fatty acids), and proteins . They actively transport vital nutrients and water that are essential for cell function.
For our cellular health, it is therefore important that we consume these essential nutrients in sufficient quantities. This is generally not achievable through a "normal" healthy diet, as becomes clear when you take a closer look at the components of the protocol.
Another problem is that we consume too many vegetable oils , with an increased omega-6 content or also many trans fats . This has a negative impact on the quality of our cell membranes.
How was the Longevity Oil Protocol for optimized cell membranes developed?
Over the years, I've experimented extensively with ways to sustainably optimize cell membranes and have developed a longevity oil protocol for optimized cell membranes that works for me. Regular measurements (every 4-6 months) allow me to monitor its effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
It all started in 2016. That's when I first became aware of Dave Asprey 's Bulletproof Diet . Dave is considered the "father of biohacking." The morning ritual of Bulletproof Coffee offers a healthy alternative to a conventional breakfast . It contains MCT oil and organic grass-fed butter . This butter is rich in saturated fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining stable cell membranes. I'm very familiar with his books, as we discussed them extensively with him over the years in his "Upgrade Collective" community.
It's widely known that olive oil contains many healthy fats. Bryan Johnson developed his Blueprint Protocol , which includes plenty of olive oil. I originally included less olive oil in my protocol, but I've now increased it to 30-50g per day .
I first became aware of the work of Dr. Volker Schmiedel and Prof. Dr. Clemens von Schacky when I started researching Omega-3 oils . Specifically, they provided a lot of helpful information about the Omega-3 Index and how to test for it. Through years of testing, I was gradually able to optimize the dosages and the choice of oils.
Phospholipids are particularly important, as they make up more than 50% of the cell membrane . Here, I'd like to highlight the work of Dr. Christian Burghardt and Florian Schilling . Over the past year, in their M3 Mentoring Program, we were able to deepen our understanding of the scientific principles of the cell membrane and cellular metabolism . Phospholipids are quite sensitive to oxidation. Therefore, they should ideally be combined with antioxidants. That's why the Mitocare products Lipo Glutathione & Curcumin Booster and Omega-PL are my favorites.
The program is rounded out by further refinements, such as the addition of Omega-7 fatty acids and the new C15 fatty acid , which I've experimentally incorporated. The protocol will certainly continue to evolve, but it works quite well (validated by regular measurements) and you can benefit from it now.
Key performance indicators
How do you know if you're on the right track when it comes to the quality of your cell membranes ?
Therefore, regular measurements are very important.
The Omega-3 Index and your Omega-6:3 ratio are very important indicators. Ideally, these should be checked every 4-6 months. This can be done conveniently from home. You can, for example, order a test from Norsan.
This can be determined, for example, with the Omegametrix fatty acid analysis. From my partner Norsan . If you're subscribed to my newsletter , you'll receive a discount code which you can use to get a small discount on selected products in my shop.
Here I'm sharing my longevity protocol with you: Healthy oils, fats & phospholipids:
Here is my protocol, consisting of healthy fats, oils, and phospholipids, which I've developed over the past few years and which forms an important part of the basic therapy for longevity. I take this Monday through Friday, but you can also take some on weekends. You follow this regimen for 2-3 months . Then you should have a fatty acid test done and measure your levels. Based on the results of the fatty acid analysis, you should make minor adjustments.
Basic protocol:
1 tsp Natugena Omega-3 Vegan Oil (Algae oil) for lunch. This has a higher DHA content.
As an alternative: 1 tbsp Natugena Omega-3 For dinner (fish oil). It has a higher EPA content.
Alternatively, there is also a very good Omega-3 oil (also tastes great!): Tisso Pro Omega Ultra
1 tbsp organic linseed oil That's sufficient. Three times a week is enough, ideally in the evening with dinner or in yogurt in the morning.
1 tbsp organic olive oil (Virgin, cold-pressed) with every meal. Can also be used as a salad dressing. Optimal intake: 30g to 50g per day.
1 tbsp Noordcode Organic Pure MCT oil (for example, in Bulletproof Coffee in the morning)
1 tbsp organic grass-fed butter (or 1 tbsp) Organic Ghee (in the morning in Bulletproof Coffee)
1 tsp Mitocare Lipo Curcumin Booster (1 teaspoon is sufficient here, for example if silent inflammation or nitrosative stress is an issue)
1 tsp Mitocare Lipo Glutathione Booster
You can also increase the amount to a tablespoon if you want to intensify the detox.
Warning: Don't be put off by the taste, this stuff is good!
Mitocare Omega PL One capsule in the evening, one with food, should be sufficient.
BodyBio PC 2 capsules taken in the morning after waking up (or after mental activity) are actually my favorite when it comes to phospholipids. It contains an active form that is far more effective than other products.
Phospholipids, as mentioned, are major components of cell membranes. They belong to the membrane lipids (a main group alongside glycolipids and cholesterol) and form the primary component of the lipid bilayer. You want to have plenty of these!
Optional (but a valuable addition):
1 tsp Biogena Organic Black Cumin Oil for dinner
1/2 tsp organic macadamia oil (Omega-7 source)
1-0-1 Fatty15 - This is a new C15:0 fatty acid with potential that I am currently testing (optional)
1-0-1 NoordCode Ultimate Omega Formula - Contains pure, unprocessed Calanus oil with a broad spectrum of marine fats, including Omega-3 EPA & DHA and natural astaxanthin. A unique, highly stable, sustainable Omega-3 oil. For brain, heart & blood vessels, and eyes. (optional)
The dosages are slightly higher for omega-3 fatty acids here. Experience shows that one tablespoon of omega-3 oil is generally sufficient to maintain good levels. However, if you want to build muscle, more than one tablespoon is helpful. The recommended amount is 0.15 ml per 1 kg of body weight.
I mentioned the C15:0 fatty acid. There is currently a product called Fatty15 that you could try (see above, optional).
The oil protocol directly in the EVER app
To make getting started as easy as possible for you, the oil protocol is available directly in the EVER app . I'm sharing it here because many have asked for a clear, pragmatic solution.
The protocol contains indicative dosage ranges and deliberately only the minimum needed to get started in a structured manner – without unnecessary complexity.
When you use EVER , you can select and customize the protocol directly in the app and integrate it into your workflow. The appropriate oils can be purchased from the EVER Shop with just a few clicks, if needed .
This is how knowledge becomes a practical, everyday step. It couldn't be simpler.
